Lygeo Cottage is a simply charming lakeside cottage with cozy furnishings and updated appliances to give guests a comfortable vacation experience! Lygeo Cottage can be rented by itself or it may be accompanied by The Owl’s Nest, a smaller cottage that holds 4 extra guests for a total of 10. The property comes with its own deck and an area just by the water with patio furniture to enjoy your days by the lake and chairs right by the water for an up close view. This splendid location gives you sufficient privacy to enjoy your stay.

Walk into rustic walls, vaulted ceilings, and hardwood flooring for a cabin feel. The main floor rooms contain ample space for the whole group to enjoy and move around. The bedrooms are on the main floor, and there is a loft with two beds available - all with comfortably soft linens to cozy up with. The kitchen is spacious and built with all you’ll need, and the dining room has more than enough room for all to enjoy.
Living Spaces

The living area is located right as you walk inside the cottage.You have a cozy cedar log sofa to rest up on and a matching patterned log chair to go with it. In another room, you’ll find another common area with its own sofa and a stone fireplace. This area also has four latched windows without blinds that bring in plenty of natural light. 

Kitchen & Dining

Only steps away from the dining table and living space is the fully equipped kitchen, full of everything you need for delicious meals including a stove and grill, microwave, plenty of dishes and utensils, pots and pans hanging on the wall, and more! The chef of the group will enjoy the simple furnishings built in and the space this area gives you. The Owl’s nest has its own spacious and equipped kitchen. 

Enjoy eating your meals with the dining table in front of the large window overlooking the lake. This table seats 5, but there are other seats available throughout the house. 

Bedrooms & Bath

Lygeo Cottage houses two bedrooms and a loft. The first bedroom is adjacent to the front door and contains a full sized bed with comfortable linen. The second bedroom also has a full size bed, and the loft bedroom holds 2 twins. The Owl’s Nest houses a bedroom and a pull-out sofa which can easily occupy 4 guests - perfect for two couples or a small family.

The laundry unit is in its own building closely between houses.

Outdoor Amenities

Lygeo Cottage is set perfectly on the beautiful lake. Make sandcastles on the lake, take a swim in the water, go fishing with the private dock, get the kayaks and paddleboards out, and so much more! Enjoy dining outside with the little deck near the pier. Take the family to Old Settler’s Park, drive down to Glen Arbor, visit Sleeping Bear Dunes, Lake Michigan, and so many more! Your options are endless here.

Rentals are from Saturday to Saturday during the summer months. After Labor Day, we allow 3 night stays. Check-out is at 10am and check-in begins at 4pm. We do allow pets.

McCormick Place has 3 cottages situated on the southwest shore of Big Glen Lake. Cottages are nestled in the woods just a few doors down from Old Settler’s Park, a great place to picnic or take the kids to play at the park. Enjoy the 100 feet of private frontage on Big Glen Lake on the southwest shore. McCormick Place is a short drive to Glen Arbor, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Lake Michigan Beaches, Crystal River Canoeing and much more!
