Welcome to Michi’s Base Camp, a dog-friendly vacation rental located in the heart of beautiful Leelanau County, Michigan. This property ensures that comfort and quality are not compromised when bringing a dog on vacation!

Step into an open floor plan featuring a cozy living room complete with a dog cot and a welcoming fireplace. The full kitchen boasts stainless steel appliances, including a regular coffee maker, toaster oven, microwave, gas stove, and refrigerator. There is plenty of seating at the kitchen counter with 4 bar stools, perfect for casual meals or morning coffee.

This charming rental accommodates up to 4 guests and 2 dogs, with 1 bedroom featuring a queen bed and a computer nook equipped with a desk and chair, ideal for those needing a quiet workspace. The garage has been transformed into a fun game room featuring a twin bed with a twin trundle, a ping pong table, and a table with seating perfect for playing card games or board games. A full bathroom with a walk-in shower and outdoor shower is also available.

Located just minutes from Glen Lake and the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, this property is a stone’s throw from the National Park, the Leelanau Conservancy, and Palmer Woods. For those seeking biking, hiking, campfires, and tranquility in a beautiful natural wooded setting with easy access to the beaches of Empire and Pyramid Point, this is the perfect spot. Close but not too close to Glen Arbor, Leland, and Traverse City, it offers convenient options for shopping or dining, with award-winning wineries and breweries surrounding the area.

With 18 acres of glacier-carved woods to explore, guests and their dogs may never want to leave the property. A fire pit in the meadow, a spacious back patio, large fenced in area for dogs to play and feel safe, and a grill provide opportunities for relaxation and enjoyment of the natural splendor. We also have a EV charger if you need to power up before exploring.

Want to get away but still need to log into work? No problem! We’ve got high speed internet and a dedicated workstation with a view, a 32” monitor, and a Shure USB microphone, perfect for checking in from Base Camp. Don’t be surprised if a deer wanders by while you’re typing. 
 
Due to the location of this property, cell phone service is sketchy but you’ll never be out of touch if you “enable WiFi calling” on your mobile device.

  • Check-in from 4:00 PM - anytime
  • Minimum check-in age - 25
  • Dog-Friendly (Max of 2 w/Pet fee, No Cats)
  • NO smoking, or parties
  • Rental agreement electronically signed and driver licenses upload required during booking
  • Check-out 10:00 AM
  • Early/Late check-in/out subject to availability
  • $1000 security hold placed 2 days prior to arrival and released 7 days after departure
  • Ninety-seven percent (97.00%) of the total booking charges will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 60 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. For cancellations made within 60 days prior to the arrival date, no refund will be issued

We are happy you chose our Michi’s Base Camp home for your stay. We hope you will make the most of this cozy home and its amenities. We have put a lot of effort into making it a lovely space. Hence the following House Rules:

  • We are pet friendly with a 2 pet limit. We just ask that you clean up after your pets. Must be on a leash at all times. 
  • Parties are not allowed as this home is in a quiet neighborhood.
  • Cell phone service typically doesn’t work, we do have wifi. 
  • For insurance and safety purposes, all guests must be listed and accounted for on your reservation/itinerary. No more than the maximum amount of guests may stay at any time. 
  • Lock all doors, windows and garage doors any time you leave the house.
  • No Smoking- No smoking of any kind, in the house, including but not limited to nicotine, tobacco products, cannabis or any other smoke or inhaled products. Breaking this rule will incur a $500 fine/fee. 
  • We leave an initial supply of toiletries and paper towels. 
  • You want to bring any coffees, teas, and extras. 
  • No parties or events
  • Missing or damaged towels, sheets, quilts, blankets, pillows will be charged to guest at replacement cost.
  • No fireworks.
  • Please park on the cement or gravel area only. No parking or driving on grass or edges is allowed due to possible irrigation and septic damage.
  • Quiet time is from 11pm-7am daily.
  • Don’t eat in the bedrooms please.
  • We do not expect this to be an issue ever however we are told we must disclose our expectations. Trash/Messy- If the home is left with excessive trash, vomit, bodily fluids we will charge $100 for every extra hour of cleaning required.
  • Accidents/injury=Guests take full responsibility for any accidents, injuries or illnesses that occur while on the premises or its facilities. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm or illness arising from their use of the premises. Guest recognize that they may personally purchase insurance to protect themselves in such events.
  • This property has security surveillance outside in the front and back of this home
  • It is strongly recommended that you purchase travel insurance when booking our home. Sometimes unforeseen circumstances arise, weather, illness, emergencies etc, which could cause you to need to cancel your trip or end it prematurely. If you choose not to obtain travel insurance, please know that we will abide by our cancellation policy and no refunds will be provided should you decline to protect your travel. If you book this unit, that action constitutes agreement with this policy. Under no circumstances will guest receive a reduction in rent, be relocated at owner’s expense or be refunded for any equipment or amenity failure. Property manager/owner, upon being notified by guest of any malfunction will make every reasonable effort to have such appliances/amenities repaired. Replacement or repair during occupancy cannot be guaranteed. Issues must be reported to owner within 24 hours of arrival.
