The Strobel Cottage is another charming vacation stay located on the southwestern shore of Big Glen Lake and tucked in between the woods close to the other 2 cottages. Just a short distance from Old Settler’s Park and a drive down to Glen Arbor and other fantastic local attractions, this little cottage is in the perfect spot. Whether you’re here to relax or enjoy the area’s local recreational activities, The Strobel Cottage is sure to keep your stay comfortable and breezy.
The house features 2 bedrooms and the living room comes with a pull-out sofa. This cottage may seem little, but its interior space offers lots of room and space for 6 guests to enjoy! High ceilings, an open floor plan, and hardwood flooring create a welcoming area for all. Unwind in the living room sofa or chairs perfect for holding conversations, create a meal with the fully-equipped kitchen, and stay cozy with each of the soft beds the bedrooms have to offer. This cottage offers long-lasting memories sure to come!
Living Spaces
The rustic charming living area resides next to the cottage’s entrance and invites guests to a warm space perfect for spending quality time. The sofa is comfortable to sit on and can transform into a queen pull-out bed. There are three vintage, comfy seats to choose from as well. After a long day of activities or travel, this is the perfect spot to reminisce about the day!
Kitchen & Dining
This charming cottage kitchen may be simple but it holds all your necessities for creating memorable meals! With your basic appliances, plentiful dishes and utensils, and other amenities such as a dishwasher and the coffee maker for your morning’s delight, cooking here will make the chef’s heart happy. The spacious countertops make it roomy for meal prepping and organizing!
The dining table resides just next to the kitchen and seats 4 with extra chairs available. Here, you can make your mealtimes unforgettable with great food and joyous conversations!
Bedrooms & Bath
The Strobel Cottage houses 2 full bedrooms along with the living room’s sofa. The primary bedroom holds a relaxing queen bed, perfect for a couple or two individuals, and the second bedroom holds a twin bunk bed with quilted blankets perfect for kids or two individuals. The living room sofa pulls out into a queen bed that can sleep 2. The cottage provides linens.
The washer and dryer reside in the cottage’s basement.
Bedroom 1: Queen bed with cozy comforter, nightstands, and window views.
Bedroom 2: Rustic twin bed with quilted blankets, ceiling light, and stool table.
Bathroom: ¾ bath with walk-in shower only.
Outdoor Amenities:
Strobel Cottage resides right on Big Glen’s picturesque lake! You have your frontage perfect for walking along, sitting down to enjoy, or even dipping your toes into the crystal-clear water. Enjoy whipping up food with the charcoal grill and dine outside with an overview of the lake, share great times and great conversations, and enjoy your time at Strobel. Have kids? Take them to Old Settler’s Park and enjoy a satisfying picnic at the park! McCormick’s Place is only a short drive into Glen Arbor, Lake Michigan, and Sleeping Bear Dunes for those who want to explore other areas!
Rentals are from Saturday to Saturday in the summer months. We allow 3-night stays after Labor Day. Check-out is at 10 am and check-in begins at 4 pm.

Payment Schedule – 50% due at the time of booking and 50% due 60 days prior to arrival.
Damage Deposit – A pre-authorization of $1,000 is due 2 days before arrival and released 7 days after departure.
Cancellation Policy –Guest receives 97.00% if cancellation occurs at least 60 days before arrival; No refunds within 60 days of arrival.
We love communicating with our guests. To ensure nothing is missed or lost in translation, we are available via email or text. At time of booking, you will be required to read and sign a short-term rental agreement, provide a security deposit and provide a copy of a government issued ID for guest booking reservation. Once check out is complete, no damage is confirmed and it appears all house rules and check out procedures have been adhered to, your security deposit hold will be released. Please note that this may take up to 7 business days.
Due to same day arrival and departures, regretfully, we are unable to accommodate early check-in or late check-out requests. We ask that you do not interrupt the cleaning crew as this will only delay your check-in. The cleaning crew is not authorized to allow anyone access to the property. - No pets of any kind.
- No smoking inside, please use the ash tray out back if smoking. Cigarette butts in the yard will incur extra cleaning fees that will be withheld from your deposit.
- Parties are not allowed as this home is in a quiet neighborhood.
- For insurance and safety purposes, all guests must be listed and accounted for on your reservation/itinerary. No more than the maximum amount of guests may stay at any time.
- It is strongly recommended that you purchase travel insurance when booking our home. Sometimes unforeseen circumstances arise, weather, illness, emergencies etc, which could cause you to need to cancel your trip or end it prematurely. If you choose not to obtain travel insurance, please know that we will abide by our cancellation policy and no refunds will be provided should you decline to protect your travel. If you book this unit, that action constitutes agreement with this policy. Under no circumstances will guest receive a reduction in rent, be relocated at owner’s expense or be refunded for any equipment or amenity failure. Property manager/owner, upon being notified by guest of any malfunction will make every reasonable effort to have such appliances/amenities repaired. Replacement or repair during occupancy cannot be guaranteed. Issues must be reported to owner within 24 hours of arrival.
